The Greatest Commandment In The Bible – Part 2

30 Jun

Alright if you haven’t read part 1, quit cheating.  Part 1 is right below this story.

We’re continuing the story on the greatest commandment.  As state in part 1, the reason the story was inspired was because I talked to some people that were surprised that God would be up for war rather than peace.  Is that the case?  Let’s continue to read on.

Yesterday we went over the first three of the Ten Commandments.  The all had to do with how we are to love and treat God.  Furthermore we read this from Moses in Deuteronomy.

Deuteronomy 6:5 – 5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.

Jesus said this in Matthew.

Matthew 22:36-38 – 36“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37Jesus replied: ” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38This is the first and greatest commandment.

The first and greatest commandment!

So is the first and greatest commandment, come together peacefully my creation and build yourself a tower to reach heaven without Me?  Is the greatest commandment to come together and create a new world order without Me, the Lord Thy God, as the head?

No!

Just a reminder again on a previous verse.

Exodus 20:4-6 – 4 “You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments.

This is the word for Nineveh from the Prophet Nahum.

Nahum 1:2-3 – 2 The LORD is a jealous and avenging God; the LORD takes vengeance and is filled with wrath.  The LORD takes vengeance on his foes and maintains his wrath against his enemies.
3 The LORD is slow to anger and great in power; the LORD will not leave the guilty unpunished.
His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and clouds are the dust of his feet.

God’s not for man building kingdoms on this earth without Him.  I know this word is not a feel good, take me to my happy place message.  God is Love and He is Just.

Let’s wrap this one up tomorrow and we will hit more on the Loving Creator.

The Greatest Commandment In The Bible –Part 1

29 Jun

This post has been inspired by a couple of people that were a bit surprised on my recent posts concerning global government.  They were surprised that God would be against the idea of the world coming together and trying to form a peaceful one world reunion.  This was in regards to my comments that God was against the Tower of Babel and is clearly against the end time global government movement.

Are you saying that God is against peace and is a war monger Patrick?

There are a few important things we need to establish right away to understand the above paragraph.

What is important to God?  Let’s start with the first three of the Ten Commandments.

Exodus 20:3-7

3 “You shall have no other gods before me.

4 “You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments.

7 “You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

The first three commandments are concerned with God’s people towards God.  We are not to have any other God’s before Him.  We’re not to have any form of Idol worship.  We are not to misuse his name or take it in vain.

Let’s concentrate a little on something in the second commandment there in verse 5.
I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God…..

What does that verse say to you?  I can tell you what it speaks to me.

God didn’t go to the trouble of creating a universe, creating the earth, creating man, just to ignore it all.  God didn’t create man to worship himself, trees, rocks, the sun, moon, stars, golden calves or Satan for that matter.

Before we address the top paragraph let’s also address a little more scripture that supports these scriptures we went over today.   That’s right; we’ll read on that tomorrow.

1 Thessalonians 1:10 – Saved From The Wrath To Come- Pre Trib – Rapture – Part 1

28 Jun

We have been looking at the support scriptures for the pre-trib rapture scenario in the last few weeks.

To see the past posts concerning the rapture, just go over to the Categories section off to the right of the blog and click on the Rapture category.  It will start with the most recent and work its way down.

1 Thessalonians 1:10 – 10and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.

I think it’s important to recognize the difference between persecution and God’s wrath.

We are told that we can expect persecution.  Jesus lets us know this.

John 15:20 – 20Remember the words I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.  If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.

What is difference between persecution and God’s wrath?  The world and those listening to the evil one are persecuting God’s chosen people (Jews) and His Church (Christians).  God’s wrath comes from His anger against mankind when He gets fed up with the evil.

When has God shown His Wrath?

The First full blown case came at the flood.

Genesis 6:11-13 – 11 Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence. 12 God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. 13 So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.

God’s Wrath was to wipeout mankind it had become so corrupt; however, there was one who was found righteous.

Genesis 6:9 – 9 This is the account of Noah.  Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God.

What did he do with Noah and his family?  He spared them from His wrath.

Genesis 7:1 – 1 The LORD then said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation.

The righteous were spared and the evil perished under God’s wrath.

There is another case of where this happened and we will go over it next Monday or Tuesday.

Reflection- Just Thought I Would Share

26 Jun

One thing I thought I would share is sometimes when I set out to do a post, two or three come out of it.

I’ll sit down to write something and think to myself, wow, God is really giving me some good stuff, but it has nothing to do with what my title is.  So I’ll continue to write what He puts on my heart and then give it a new title.  Then it’s back to the post that I originally planned to do.

I really try to keep on task because it’s really easy to wander off into different directions.  The nice thing about blogging is I can grab that information and move it to a different page and call it a new post.

I hear my pastor say he planned one thing and God gave him another so I would imagine it happens quite often.

Well a lot of babbling about nothing, but hey, why not for a Saturday reflection.

Coming One World Government – End Time Prophecy

25 Jun

I will spend the next few Fridays on the End Time Prophecy series dedicated to the One World Government or New World Order.

Like Israel becoming a nation this is one of the most important end time prophecies.  A one world government is the only way a one world currency and one world banking system come together.  Should I have written on the one world government before the other two?  Sure I should have.

Whoops.

Many of the other end time prophecies that are coming together are linked to the one world government just as the one world banking system and one world currency.  Since I haven’t spoken on those yet, I will hold back until I post on them.

The two books that really address the one world government are Daniel and Revelation.

I will do one post next week on Revelation 13.  It will take a few posts to cover the world kingdoms spoken of in Daniel.  I will also point out some comparisons between Daniel in his visions and John with his concerning the world coming together.

Why is the world coming together and forming a one world government?  By chance?  Never!

It has taken 90 years for it to come together.  The people that felt we were going to destroy ourselves after World War I, got the ball rolling.  World War II comes along and you add atomic weaponry into the mix.  A new class of recruits started joining these elite groups of rich men and people who were linked to powerful influences.

Nuclear, chemical, and biological, weapons make their way onto the scenes and the reality is that someone is going to use them someday.  So there is the human motivation to push the movement.  Now with economic turmoil, extinction of certain species, global warning, rain forests disappearing, pollution, etc, they have other causes as well.  I suppose we could add major waterways being filled with oil now also.

It’s not hard to see why man is pushing itself towards a world government, but is God up for a one world government where he isn’t the focus?

Next week I have a three part post addressing that very thing.

Prayer Kicked Out Of School In America – June 25, 1962 – Part 2

24 Jun

Today I will finish up the post I started yesterday.  Mainly because I had an idea where I was going with it when it started and by the time I was done, God wanted me to remind everyone that Heaven wasn’t a democracy.

Man just has a spirit that he won’t be told what to do.  It’s a rebellious spirit and came at the time of the fall.  Armies that are full of men that won’t be told what to do, become defeated quickly.  Nations that don’t believe in authority fall to anarchy and soon the strong will dictate it with a brutal dictatorship.

Why has America thrived in the past?  Why did England thrive in the past?

In both cases it appears that when the recognized God and Jesus as the head authority, they prospered.  When England began to lose this and turned its back on the Jews it was reduced to what it is today.  America is in the same boat.  When God was at the head it was thriving.  Now that it has kicked God to the side, it has become a proud, broke, debtor nation.  Now turning its back on Israel, it will be brought to its knees.

The problem is that crime has gone up, violence has gone up, trust has gone down, morality has gone down.

God was taken out of public school starting 48 years ago.  You can add another 5 years for those who were too young to be in school and you’re up to everyone 53 years and younger has never been subject to God unless they got it from home.

You can probably add another 5 years, as those first years of development are important, but the learning really starts later.  So about 58 years and older really didn’t get a dose of God unless it was from home.

Doesn’t this age group on down pretty much run almost everything right now?

Sadly enough it’s not going to stop where it’s at.  Without God’s blessing this country will continue to fall further into chaos, more debt, and while it’s busy trying to fight Christianity, another influence will come in and devour it.

So what’s the good news?  The Good News is Jesus Christ!

Acts 5:42 – 42Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ.

Heaven is not a democracy.  Heaven is a Theocracy.  It is run by a loving God of absolutes.  Everyone is invited to enter, as long as you acknowledge the pardon granted by the King and serve Him.

The proud, the stubborn, the selfish, the evil, will not be part of that Kingdom.

Choose the King.  He made you.  He loves you.  He has forgiven you.  There is just one more step to starting your journey back to the Kingdom.  If you haven’t accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, I invite you to do so now.  I have put a page on the upper right hand side of the column that will walk you through.

Prayer Kicked Out Of School In America – June 25, 1962 – Part 1

23 Jun

The ruling was that a 22 word prayer in New York public schools was unconstitutional.

“Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence upon Thee, and we beg Thy blessings upon us, our parents, our teachers, and our country.”

This was the start of war on God in the public school system in America.

Since this time the rulings have continued to erode away anything to do with God at school.

I was researching this topic and have spent over an hour looking at comments for and against having prayer in public schools.

Naturally the point being made by those who are against it is that one you would have to open it up to everyone.  Second you would be forcing a free society to accept something they don’t have the choice of making on their own.

That’s when it really hit me.  I already knew this, but it really hit me hard.

Heaven isn’t a democracy….It’s a Theocracy.  God is going to rule and He isn’t going to go to the poll booths to find out what you’re wanting.  Rather you like it or not there is a right and a wrong.  There is a true God.  There is a Heaven and Hell.

Democracy that allows you freedom to worship God is wonderful.  We have a world that is not allowed to do so and if you read the book of Revelation it’s all heading there soon.

The first half of the tribulation people will be killed because Christianity will be a religion of intolerance.  In the second half if you don’t worship the Antichrist now reincarnated by Satan, and this will include the false church that was persecuting Christianity, you will be killed.

Revelation 13:15 – 15He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.

So if you’re one of those who loves democracy because it allows you to have the freedom of not having to do anything you don’t want to, better enjoy it while you can.  That will be coming to an end.

Tomorrow I will continue on this topic.

Twenty Four Elders With Gold Crowns – Rapture – Pre-Trib

22 Jun

I’m continuing my series for the support of the Pre-Trib rapture scenario.

A quick recap:

The Church is completely mentioned throughout chapters 1-3 of Revelation and then not again after Revelation 4:1 when the Lord says “Come up here.”

I also mentioned how the Lampstands, which is said to be the churches, are now lit in Revelelation 4:5.

Today lets look at the group just before the burning lamps in Revelation 4:4.

Revelation 4:4 – 4Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads.

It’s the first mention of the twenty four elders.  They weren’t mentioned in Revelation 1,which is when were introduced to the lampstands.

Who are the elders?  There are educated guesses out there, but we won’t know until we get there.  We do know that they are beings and they wear golden crowns.

If you remember I did a post a month or so ago that spoke of our new body.  At the rapture we receive a new body and I believe that is when we receive our rewards shortly after.  All humans that are saved and are raptured will go through this in the same time period.

So for the elders to have a body that can wear a crown and also have received a crown, tells me that rapture appears to have already happened.

Narrow Is The Gate To Life

21 Jun

Matthew 7:13-14 – 13“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

One needs to realize that God didn’t want it to be this way.  He wasn’t looking for an elitist group.  The test for passing was not made too difficult and not one person should fail.   Unfortunately the majority of the human race has chosen to reject the free gift of salvation.

 Why?

Man seems to like to lean on his own understanding.  We have an uncanny ability to think we are pretty smart.  Nobody knows what’s better for me, than me.

Proverbs 14:12 – 12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.

Proverbs 16:25 – 25 There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.

So nice, King Solomon had to say it twice.

God does have a way He wants us to live our lives and it’s written throughout his word that He provided.

Proverbs 3:5-6 –  5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Trust in the Lord.  Study His Word.  Know what He wants from your life.  He gave you life.  Once you start knowing what He wants from you and how you’re supposed to live, you’ll be on the narrow path.

One more thing, “If the path you’re on is wide, you’re on the wrong path!”

Every Knee Shall Bow And Every Tongue Confess That Jesus Christ is Lord – Reflection

19 Jun

Philippians 2:9-11 – 9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,  10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,  11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

If eventually your knee is going to bow and your tongue is going to confess that Jesus is Lord, shouldn’t you do it with Him being your King instead of your Judge?
