I believe the more we live for God we begin to see this. We realize that we are accountable to God on how we live our own lives. The more we get to know our Lord, the more wretched and fallen we see ourselves.
You can see why the term ignorance is bliss is a popular term. However, there is only partial truth to that when it deals with God. If we have the ability to know our Lord more and we choose not to do so, ignorance won’t be an excuse at all. On the flip side as we get to know the rights and wrongs and we continue to choose wrong, that’s bad also.
So many paths to take and yet the one most beneficial to our lives is the one where we deny ourselves and live for Him and do what He would have us do.
