Quote – D L Moody

08 Jan

God never made a promise that was too good to be true.
Dwight L. Moody

Unlike man.  Mans word’s are full of broken promises.

We can put our complete faith in Lord.
We don’t serve a wishy-washy God.
We can count on Him, especially when we can’t count on each other or ourselves.

Quote – Augustine

02 Jan

He who created us without our help will not save us without our consent.
Augustine

Romans 10:9 – 9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

To be saved it’s that easy.

By no means is that where it is supposed to stop.  Unfortunately in this country many of our churches don’t go much further.  Even worse many don’t give an alter call to even officially offer one to do so.

Quote – A W Tozer

19 Dec

A Pharisee is hard on others and easy on himself, but a spiritual man is easy on others and hard on himself.
A W Tozer

Why is a spiritual man harder on himself, because the most important thing to him is his relationship with the Lord.  He knows it’s the most important thing that exists.  He doesn’t want to discourage someone from finding the truth, but knows the truth must be spoken.  He prays for others, shares the Word, and wants others to find their Blessed King.

The Pharisee was a person that wanted to be recognized as the Godly figure he was trying to portray.  He would rather build himself up rather than a brother who also believed in God.   It was a position of prestige.  There was no forgiveness for wrongdoing, unless you were someone special, then they bent the rules.  It’s easy to understand, since that is the way man is.

One chases after the Heart of God.  The other chases at the idea of acting Godly for others to see.

Quote – C. S. Lewis

04 Dec

There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, “Thy will be done,” and those to whom God says, “All right, then, have it your way.”
C. S. Lewis

In short you’re either living for God, or your living for yourself.

If you’re living for yourself you’re probably not excited about the idea of Jesus coming back.

Put yourself in shoes of Jesus.  How would you feel if you were coming back to call your own at the rapture and there were people that weren’t excited about the idea of you coming back?

We’ve been living for ourselves long enough.  Time to say to God, “Thy will be done through me Lord.  I want to live for You, not selfishly for me.

Pass It On

26 Nov

Today’s post is inspired by a campfire song that was popular in church camp growing up.

Pass It On – 1969 Bud John Songs, Inc -Words and Music by Kurt Kaiser

It only takes a spark to get a fire going,
    And soon all those around can warm up in its glowing;
That’s how it is with God’s Love,
    Once you’ve experienced it,
Your spread the love to everyone
You want to pass it on.
What a wonderous time is spring,
When all the tress are budding
    The birds begin to sing, the flowers start their blooming;
That’s how it is with God’s love,
    Once you’ve experienced it.
You want to sing, it’s fresh like spring,
You want to pass it on.
I wish for you my friend
    This happiness that I’ve found;
    You can depend on God
It matters not where you’re bound,
I’ll shout it from the mountain top – PRAISE GOD!
I want the world to know
The Lord of love has come to me
I want to pass it on.

I’ll shout it from the mountain top – PRAISE GOD!
I want the world to know
The Lord of love has come to me
I want to pass it on.

It does only take a spark, especially when that spark is Holy Spirit.  That spark not only works when it comes to reaching others, but in our own lives when we let the fire burn out.

Do you shout it from the mountain tops?  Do you want your world to know?  Are you letting your light shine or putting it under a bowl?

PRAISE GOD!  I want the world to know.  God bless you and let your light shine.

Quote – Billy Graham

20 Nov

Give me five minutes with a person’s checkbook, and I will tell you where their heart is.
Billy Graham

Luke 12:34- 34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

It works that way with your time too.

Chuck Missler – Quote

13 Nov

Those born once will die twice and those born twice will die once.
Chuck Missler

John 3:3-3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

When one does accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, he is born again a second time.

It’s the second death that the unsaved man is going to dread.  It’s one of punishment, torment, for rejecting the One True Loving and Just God.

Revelation 19:14-15 – 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

Don’t kid yourself Scarecrow, everyone is afraid of fire!

Quote – Charles Stanley

06 Nov

Of all the things Christ wants for us, loving Him and focusing our attention on Him are the most important.
Charles Stanley

I heard Chuck Missler remind me in one of the tapes I was listening to the other day that we are created to worship and have relationship with the Lord.  It’s why we were created.

Why was David considered a man after God’s Heart?  By his life?  No, David had a lot of issues in his life and they are recorded in the Bible.  It was his desire and love for the Lord.  David truly was passionate about God and had a real relationship with Him.

Does that mean it’s a license to fail everywhere else in our walk?  No.  It just means that it is the most important.

Think about the best relationship you have on earth and now try and surpass that in your relationship with the Lord.  It takes time, respect, love, trust, honor, and faith.

Quote – C. S. Lewis

30 Oct

If you read history you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were precisely those who thought most of the next. It is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world that they have become so ineffective in this.
C. S. Lewis

Amen.  The church as a whole is praying to God for Heaven on this earth and living for it, instead of working for the Lord and looking for the real Heaven.

What’s the difference between the church and everybody else?  The prosperity gospel has made it hard to tell the difference and it skews the real message from the Lord.

Quote – Dwight L Moody

23 Oct

A rule I have had for years is: to treat the Lord Jesus Christ as a personal friend. His is not a creed, a mere doctrine, but it is He Himself we have.
Dwight L. Moody

A personal relationship with Jesus Christ is what we all need.  He’s more real than you and I are.  Can you have a relationship with someone you don’t give time to?  If you do, that relationship is probably not very good.

As a Christian who should be your best friend?  Who is the Bride of Christ supposed to be?

The Church.  We are the Bride of Christ.  Should we have a relationship with the Groom?

Where did Israel go wrong in the past?  They had no relationship with the Lord.  We shouldn’t be surprised in the Church, many don’t know Him at all because they don’t read His Word.  That’s why there is a falling away in the last days.  No relationship with the Lord leads to false doctrine and a falling away.

Seek the Lord.  Make Him your best friend, not a history lesson from a book.  He has risen!  He is alive!  He waits for you to invite Him in.  The temple exists in you and all you have to do is invite Him in.  He’ll help you clean your temple (house) if you let Him.  He can do a lot more through you once you do that.
