He Never Wants You To Give Up

23 Apr

There’s somebody that never wants you to give up on striving to know Him better.  He never wants you to become discouraged or not try anymore.  This Individual loves you, made you, and even died for you, so you could spend an eternity with Him as your Lord.

Matthew 18:12-14 – 12 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? 13 And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. 14 In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.

The name of this individual:

JESUS

There is another that tells you what your itching ears want to hear.  He sold the goods that you can be like God in the garden.  He’s been selling it to everyone since.  Was he telling the truth?

John 8:44 – 44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

John 10:10 – 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; …..

The whole goal of selling you that you can be like God, was to play on your ego and separate you from Him.  As stated above there is no truth in him and there is no love for God in him.  He teaches people to be lover’s of themselves.

Who is this individual?

The serpent, Lucifer, the devil….Satan.

God wants you to worship Him and serve Him as God and Lord.  Life isn’t about scales, you can never be good enough.  Accept Jesus as Lord and Savior and never get discouraged and fall away or quit seeking Him.  The only voice that is trying to convince you to do that is Satan.

Many Parts Of The Body

16 Apr

Last post I emphasized that everyone has a ministry of some sort in us.  We have gifts from our Lord that we can use to help out the Body of Christ.  We are all different individuals and we are all uniquely made.  Together though, we combine to make up the Church.

1 Corinthians 12:12-26 – 12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 14 Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.

15 Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. 16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18 But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. 19 If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, but one body.

21 The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” 22 On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, 24 while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it, 25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

We are not all mouths, we are not all eyes, but together we can use these wonderful gifts He has blessed us with to reach others.

You have a gift.  Pray and seek to have that gift used by the Lord for His Kingdom.

Action Speaks Louder Than Words

09 Apr

Matthew 21:28-32 – 28 “What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’

29 “‘I will not,’ he answered, but later he changed his mind and went.

30 “Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, ‘I will, sir,’ but he did not go.

31 “Which of the two did what his father wanted?”

“The first,” they answered.

Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. 32 For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.

The Parable is directed at the main body of the Jewish leaders at the time, but the thing I key into is the action.  Talk is not as important as actions.

If the Body of Christ and Church sits around and doesn’t get involved in the ministry, there is no ministry.  If the early Church followers and apostles don’t commit their life to the Gospel, we have no written Word or account of how they went about spreading the Good News.

We all have a ministry.  The Body is made up of many parts.  I’ll continue with those familiar verses in the next post.  Serve your Lord.  Listen to his voice.  To tell Him you love Him is great.  To show Him that you love Him speaks louder.  Both are so important, but we can’t forget the action.
