The Law And Jesus Christ

10 Jun

Galatians 5:4 – 4You who are trying to be justified by law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.

Paul was talking to the Jews who were trying to still live by the law to get to God.  However, God’s Son had already come and fulfilled the real path back to God.

What he is saying is if you accept Jesus and obey Him, you are still going to obey the law.  Jesus had this to say in:

Matthew 5:17 –  17“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

If you try to obey the law without accepting Christ, however, you have fallen away from grace.

This is just more information for the human race.  You can try and be the best person in the world, but even if you try to obey the Ten Commandments and don’t know the Son, you are still going to die in your sins.

Once you have Jesus, your heart should want to obey the commandments.  Actually you should understand them better than ever.  I am going to write a whole separate post on resting on the Sabbath, but as a Christian we should all realize the need to do so especially in this day and age.

Jesus didn’t come to change the law but to fulfill it.  Let’s all make an extra effort to live for Jesus and obey the law-commandments.

This Blog Isn’t Talking About Religion

06 Jun

What is religion?  Religion can be any kind of faith.  It can have many different kinds of rituals.

This site isn’t about religion.  It’s about the God and Creator of this universe whose Son is Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ.  Anyone can say they believe in God, but until I hear the name Jesus, I don’t know which God you’re talking about.  In today’s world I have to listen to someone for awhile to make sure it is the Jesus of the Bible.

Religion can be anything.  Atheists are in a religion.  It just happens to be the fight and belief that there is no God.

If you get up in the morning walk into the bathroom and pray to the toilet, flush it three times, go to the bathroom and then flush it three more times you got yourself potential religion.  You definitely would have a religious routine going.  Certainly if you did it every day one would say you’re quite faithful.

Being religious does nothing for your soul.  You can be sincere in all that you do and believe it wholeheartedly.  If you die and your sins aren’t forgiven and you’re not redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, you’re going to be sincerely in bad shape.

What’s the difference between Christianity and the rest of the beliefs in the world?

God who made you is in charge and He made the correct Way.

John 3:16 – 16“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 14:6 –  6Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

The rest were made by men who were seeking and never found the right way.

Trust me.  To look at all religions without looking heavily into them would be quite confusing.  If you start looking at some of them and break them down, they begin to look man made.

When you finally have a relationship with God and Jesus, the other beliefs are greatly exposed.

God built the bridge after man destroyed the first one.  All other bridges made by man and Satan fall way short.  When you finally get to the end of those bridges, it’s a long way down.

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Savior I invite you to go over to the right upper column and click on “How To Accept Jesus As Savior.”

Eternity Is A Long Time

23 May

For my Christian brothers and sisters in the Lord, I want this post to touch your spirit.  I want it to put urgency in your soul.

For those who haven’t accepted Jesus Christ I want to point out the urgent situation of your future.  I want to do this in most direct but loving way possible.

I have been saved now for thirty years.  It has been just recently that God has been allowed to put in my heart the love of not wanting anyone to perish.  I say allow, because God never wants anyone to perish and wants us to feel that too.

In theory I have never wanted anyone to go through eternity in hell away from God.

Since I have opened up to God more lately, He has given me a real heartfelt emotion on not wanting anyone to perish, especially my friends and family who haven’t accepted Jesus.

On the flip side I want you feel the same way about your friends and family.

The two scenarios I’m about to use in themselves can be pretty generic so I really want you to take them to heart.

You have a friend and he is walking towards a cliff that is 1000 feet high.  He’s blinded for whatever reason and isn’t seeing the danger.  Maybe they are distracted by things.  What are you going to do?

Are you going to sit back and think to yourself, well if I tell them they’re going to fall to their death they might think its offensive.  I don’t want to step on their toes.   I’ve hinted once before the cliff is there, so now that’s enough.

No!  If it is a friend or family member you need to scream, yell, and tackle them before they do.  At least you should.

Another friend is walking into a burning building.  I say walking because he hasn’t gotten there yet.  Once again, are you going to let them just walk in to the building without giving it your best effort to stop them from doing so?

We’re not just talking about death.  We’re talking about DEATH ETERNAL.

We’re not talking about just being separated from you and God forever, but forever in torment.  This is an urgent matter.  Satan has had too much victory in the average American Christian life.

We need to pray and ask God to soften their hearts.  We need to pray that God gives us that nugget of gold that may reach them.  Pray that God gives you that spirit that cares more about your friends and families destination than rather than how they might receive it.

I promise you, if you sincerely love those people and make it known to them, they’re not going to be offended.  Nobody is offended about being cared for by a loved one.  A stranger on the street corner may get tired of you or agitated, but a friend or family member that knows you love them will not.

If they’re closed minded at first, keep praying.  I can’t emphasize enough the power prayer.  Pray that God gives you the right things to say, or puts you there in the right circumstance.  People have built some pretty big walls, but were human and since God made us, those walls they built have the potential to be breached.

Matthew 9:37 – 37Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.

If you’re a Christian brother or sister, don’t go into eternity without doing all that you can for your loved ones.  Don’t stand in front of God without knowing you did all that you could.

If you don’t know the Lord and you want to accept him now or learn more about him I have put pages in the right upper column that will help you with this.  If you’re still not ready to accept him please at least look it over fully before you die.

Eternity is an awfully long time for Joy or for Torment  (click for bible example) because you rejected God and his free gift of salvation.

Only One Way

17 May

Do all faiths lead to Heaven?

Not according to the Bible.

Peter while talking to the Sanhedrin in the book of Acts said this about Jesus.
Acts 4:12 – 12Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

Paul in 1 Timothy 2:5-6 says –  5For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6who gave himself as a ransom for all men—the testimony given in its proper time.

Jesus Himself acknowledges that there is no other way to God except by Him.
John 14:6 – 6Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

The bridge has been prepared for all who want to come back to God.  He provided the way by His Son dying for our sins.  Any other bridge that is an attempt by man to get to Heaven or back to God, falls way short.

If you haven’t accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, don’t waste another minute.  You were made to serve God.  If you would like to more on why you need Jesus I have done my best to make a condensed outline for you.  If you are ready to accept the Lord now, there is also a page to the upper right that will guide you through that.

If you’re Satan- How Do You Confuse Them?

16 May

If you’re Satan and you are at war with God and want to be like the most high, how do you get man to turn his back on God?

Man is already a fallen rebellious creature, because he listened to the serpent (Satan) in the Garden of Eden.

If you’re Satan and you tell him not to worship God, he’s probably defiant enough that he will.  If you tell man to worship you, he’s defiant enough he won’t.

So what do you do?

For a start, how about give him lots of choices?

Worship the sun, moon, stars, idols, yourself, false religions, anything…….but the one true God.

Imagine taking a white ping pong ball and throwing it into bathtub full of yellow ping pong balls.  Now stir up the balls.

Now a lot of people are going to look at the tub and say “Wow, that’s a lot of ping pong balls.  Do I really want to take the time to look for the white ping pong ball?  When I find the white one, is it really any different than this yellow one I like over here?  Who’s to say the white one is the right one anyway?  By the way, what am I doing at this tub in the first place?  It’s down-right confusing and who’s to say I need a ping pong ball?  I’m a grown up, I don’t need no stinking ping pong ball.  Ping pong balls are for the weak which need to play with their toys and I don’t need that.”

Does this analogy ring a bell?  I think it does.  It was a lot of fun to write too.

You see Satan isn’t stupid, he’s evil!  He’s gotten to know man pretty good after six thousand years.

Now if someone wanted to, they could bend down with the light on and look through the balls and spot the white one really easy.

So how did such an easy thing such as man falling, Jesus dies to pay the debt, you accept him as Lord, and your back with God again, get so complicated?

Satan’s been working hard that’s why.  Look at that paragraph on the ping pong balls again.  It does make your head swim.  Some people out there aren’t looking for the white ball (Jesus), but many are and it is confusing.

Can you help them?  Do you yourself know why you believe what you do?  Can you help others that are confused?  Because they need questions answered!  We need to study the word and build a foundation so we can.

The next question is, will you?

John 21:17 – 17 The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.”

    Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.

If you don’t know Jesus and would like to make Him your Savior, please click on “How To Accept Jesus As Savior” in the right upper column.

Everybody Dies – What’s Your Plans?

08 May

You plan to go on vacation.

You plan many times what you’re going to have for dinner.

Any organization in your life calls for planning.

This earthly body is going to die.  Even in the Rapture this earthly body dies.  What’s your plan?  Pretty important when you think about it.

If you’re not thinking about it, start.

Closing your eyes and cupping your ears and yelling lalalalala, isn’t the answer.

You’re eternal destiny is going to become real important, real fast when the body stops breathing.

I hope you choose Jesus.  If you don’t know him as your Savior I have a page dedicated to that very thing in the right upper column.

JESUS – Just A Great Teacher?

05 May

I was recently inspired to write on this after reading a book by Josh McDowell.   Josh is a great apologetics teacher and speaker.  I encourage everyone to read some of his books as they can only strengthen your faith and possibly give you the information you need down the road for someone searching for the truth.  I believe he states the following in many of his books, but I was reading Skeptics Who Demanded A Verdict.

Many people and other religions out there belive that Jesus was a wonderful man or great teacher, but they don’t think He is the Son of God.

Jesus in Mark 14:62 when asked if He was the Son of God.
62“I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

The Jews knew the phrase “I am,” referred to God.  They understood Jesus was stating He was part of the Godhead right there, and sentenced Him to death for Blasphemy.

John 14:6-7 – 6Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

So the question becomes if Jesus claims He is the Son of God, one with the Father, God in the flesh, is He a good teacher if He’s not whom He claims to be?

If He is not The Way, The Truth, and The Life, and others can get to heaven besides through Him, doesn’t that make him a liar?  In verse 7, He’s letting them know they (disciples) do know the Father now and they have seen Him.

Once again, there are many people and religious groups out there that think Jesus was a great teacher, but wasn’t the Son of God, God in the Flesh, or is the Messiah.  But that’s a contradiction in terms.

Jesus was either who He said he was, or He’s lying.  If He’s a liar, He’s not a great teacher or good moral example at all.

One of the most important questions in your life is who’s Jesus?

I believe in researching and seeing the miracles in peoples lives, that He is the Son of God.  I believe He is God in the flesh and part of the Trinity.  If you don’t, Josh McDowell has many books on this subject and I challenge you to read them.

I don’t believe I quoted any actual lines in Josh McDowell’s – Skeptics That Demand A Verdict, but want to put down here that this post was inspired by it.  I encourage you once again to look at strengthening your faith by reading some of his books.  Evidence That Demands a Verdict is a great book and I think he has a revised edition of that also.

Jesus is either who He says He is, or He is the biggest imposter in human history.  He can’t be both.  Who is He going to be for you?

I stated before that one of the most important questions in your life is, “who is Jesus?”  The most important question is, are you going to make Him your Lord and Savior?

Does The Idea Of It Being The End Times Scare You

29 Apr

If we are living in the end times, does the idea of that scare you?

I’m not going to lie to you, if you don’t have Jesus as your Lord and Savior it should.  I have studied Revelation, Daniel, and the end times in the bible and for those left on earth it’s ugly.

The seven year tribulation is God’s wrath for those who have rejected him.  The Last 3 and half years of the tribulation is the devils hell on earth tour, after getting kicked out of heaven.

In short, you don’t want to be here.

If you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, I believe you will be saved from the wrath that is to come.

1 Thessolonians 1:10 – 10and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.

1 Thessolonians 5:9 – 9For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

There are other scriptures also that I believe indicate Christians will be spared from the seven year tribulation.  I’m refered to as a pre-trib rapture guy.  I will be going over those scriptures more in future posts when I do write on the rapture.  However we still can go through trials and tribulation on this earth as it states in the Bible, just like many of our brothers and sisters in the Lord all over the world are experiencing today.

What’s the difference?  The Bible says the seven year tribulation is God’s wrath.

Another personal thought I’d like to share is I believe Jesus wants us to be excited about his coming again for the Church.  In all honesty I trust the Lord completely and whatever plans he has for me in these last days I will do it and do it lovingly.  But if the Church is supposed to be slaughtered in the last days as tribulation saints, my excitement wouldn’t be there like it is right now.  I believe the scriptures give us a reason to be excited.

As I stated I plan to do many posts on the rapture in the future, but right now if you don’t know Jesus as your personal Savior I want to encourage you to do so now.  There are tribulation saints that do have to reject the mark of the beast and will die for their faith in Jesus, but I believe those are new Christians that missed the rapture.  Don’t miss it.  Go over to the “How To Accept Jesus Page” on the upper right column of this blog.  It will show you the simple step of how to accept the Lord and how to get started in your new walk.

Come As You Are

24 Apr

Many people will think to themselves the Lord couldn’t possibly take me the way I am.  There’s nothing loveable about me.

Apart from God there is nothing loveable about anyone.  What you need to know is this:

Romans 3:23 – 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

He doesn’t care about your past.  Jesus is waiting and excited to have it forgiven.

Don’t wait another minute if you haven’t made Jesus Lord.  You never know what the next minute brings.  But I can tell you from experience, that when you have Jesus as Lord, whatever it brings, you’ll be alright.  If you haven’t given your life to the Lord and found your way back to your loving Creator, I encourage you to visit the “How to Accept Jesus As Savior” page to the right of your screen.

You Don’t Have To Have Blind Faith

21 Apr

I have heard it said that we just have to believe in God or Jesus.  That’s all we need to do.

That on its own doesn’t fair well.  I’m not sure when it was being said that the people meant it to come out that way.

You see the Devil believes in God.  He isn’t saved by this belief.  The Devil believes in Jesus.  He isn’t saved by this belief either.

So if you are one of those people who believe God exists, that’s an encouraging step.  However, until you accept Jesus as Lord and accept His sacrifice to cover your sins, you are a still not redeemed.

One of my favorite analogies is the guy handing out one hundred dollar bills.  You can look at him, watch him offer them to you, but until you accept them, they’re not yours.

It’s free.  It’s what your loving Creator wants.

Revelation 3:20 –   20Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.

He’s waiting.  Here I am!  We have loving Savior that not only died for us, but is also persistent in reaching us.  If you haven’t accepted the Lord I have written some pages in the upper right column of this website.

Now after I wrote that, I realized that I wandered from my main idea of this post.  When I looked back on it though, I really didn’t want to get rid of it because it still connected to the first four or five sentences.  So now back to my original thought.

We don’t have to have blind faith.  There are more resources at our fingertips than ever before.  I Read the rest of this entry »
