The World Is Ripe In Deception- Part 1

24 Sep

Yes I didn’t write for deception because that would mean it is to come.  Deception is everywhere.

Who is being deceived?  I’ve been watching pretty closely and here is what I see.

Anyone who does not pay one hundred percent to the scriptures is being deceived.  That means Christians and those who are not Christians.  The body that has not attempted to make a good effort on putting on the Armor of God is living in their own hopeful world.

So where is the deception Pat?  The shorter answer is, “where is it not?”  It’s in our Country rampantly.  It never shines more than during an election process.  It’s in the whole world.

Who gets deceived?  The one who doesn’t know the Word of God.

The argument can be made that it has always been that way.  True, but at least there were more who did know it only 50 years ago that was passing on the Truth to others.  Now deception is coming from the pulpits.  Why?  Because they are not teaching the Word of God as if it is Truth.  They pick and choose.  When the world looks strongly at something that the Bible opposes, they choose the world.  They say you can’t trust the Bible, so we have to pick and choose what works for us.  That’s a doctrine that comes from demons.  Oh yeah, deceiving spirits are alive and well in America.  If you read your Old Testament they used to infiltrate the prophets (false prophets) that weren’t in tuned to God.

If you believe everything is great and always believe it will be in this country for you, you’re deceiving yourself.  It wasn’t too long ago a man named Hitler was busy over in Europe and those complacent fooled themselves that he will be happy just doing the next little thing on his agenda.  His agenda was to take over the world and destroy the Jews, he wasn’t going to stop.

As humans and our narrow focus, history is what has happened in our narrow little lifetime.  Anything before our parent’s childhood is like a storybook that doesn’t mean anything.  That’s called false positive thinking and that is a form of deception.

Tomorrow we will continue on with this topic.

Some Psalm Encouragement

20 Sep

Psalm 66:16-20 –

16 Come and listen, all you who fear God;
let me tell you what he has done for me.
17 I cried out to him with my mouth;
his praise was on my tongue.
18 If I had cherished sin in my heart,
the Lord would not have listened;
19 but God has surely listened
and heard my voice in prayer.
20 Praise be to God,
who has not rejected my prayer
or withheld his love from me!

Cry out, pray, repent, and praise Him.  He is worthy and He is ready for you to approach Him!  He gives us everything.  In return He wants our hearts.

How do we know if a Prophecy comes from the Lord? Part 2

18 Sep

Yesterday we read that for a prophecy to come from the Lord, it had to come true.  Here is a second thing that it has to follow.

Deuteronomy 13:1-5- 1 If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a miraculous sign or wonder, 2 and if the sign or wonder of which he has spoken takes place, and he says, “Let us follow other gods” (gods you have not known) “and let us worship them,” 3 you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The Lord your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul. 4 It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him. 5 That prophet or dreamer must be put to death, because he preached rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery; he has tried to turn you from the way the Lord your God commanded you to follow. You must purge the evil from among you.

It can’t contradict God’s Word.  God’s not fickle, we are.  His Word doesn’t contradict itself.  The other thing is a prophet can’t try and sway others to pursue other Gods.  That clearly isn’t from the Lord.

How Do We Know If A Prophecy Comes From The Lord?

17 Sep

What’s one very important thing regarding prophecy when it pertains to God?

Deuteronomy 18:14-22 – 14 The nations you will dispossess listen to those who practice sorcery or divination. But as for you, the Lord your God has not permitted you to do so. 15 The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to him. 16 For this is what you asked of the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly when you said, “Let us not hear the voice of the Lord our God nor see this great fire anymore, or we will die.”

17 The Lord said to me: “What they say is good. 18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers; I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him. 19 If anyone does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name, I myself will call him to account. 20 But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded him to say, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, must be put to death.”

21 You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?” 22 If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.

It has to come true.  Not a high percentage, but one hundred percent.  God is not just good on His predictions but perfect.

What is the fate of a false prophet suppose to be?  Verse 20 suggests that his career is cut very short.  Impersonating prophets are to be put to death.  I would say God takes that pretty seriously.

Tomorrow we will talk about a second thing that is important regarding rather or not a prophecy could be from God.

We Need To Remember We Are A New Creation

14 Sep

2 Corinthians 5:17 – 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

Probably a top fifty popular scripture and with good reason.  It reminds us that even though He accepts us where we are at when we ask Him in, a change still has been made.  We are new creation because of Him.  Our walk should be slow steady growth as we start our new life we have been given.

It doesn’t mean stagnation doesn’t creep in.  Almost all of us allow that and it’s usually taking one’s eye off the prize that does it.  We need to stay focused on the prize and what’s eternally important.  We we’re made to glorify God.  For some reason people think that if you’re doing that instead of glorifying yourself you can’t enjoy life at all.  That’s a lie that comes from the enemy the devil.  You can glorify God and really enjoy life.  It’s how we are supposed to act and the fall affected that.

Teach Me Your Decrees

13 Sep

Psalm 119:65-72  – 65 Do good to your servant
according to your word, O Lord.
66 Teach me knowledge and good judgment,
for I believe in your commands.
67 Before I was afflicted I went astray,
but now I obey your word.
68 You are good, and what you do is good;
    teach me your decrees.
69 Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies,
I keep your precepts with all my heart.
70 Their hearts are callous and unfeeling,
but I delight in your law.
71 It was good for me to be afflicted
so that I might learn your decrees.
72 The law from your mouth is more precious to me
than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.

Forgive me for slacking lately.  Been running many different ways.  Started teaching a Wednesday night Bible Prophecy class at my church.  You’ll see some of the content from time to time on here.

God is GOOD!  Allow Him to teach His decrees.  Be an open vessel to Him.

We need to imitate the humility of Jesus

10 Sep

Philippians 2:1-11 – 1 If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

5 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Whoever is the least shall be the greatest Jesus said.  What does that mean?  It means to care for others more than ourselves.  It means to be humble not proud.  It means to serve as He served, all in the name of the Lord.

That leads to greatness when we get to the Kingdom.

Psalm 49

06 Sep

Psalm 49:1-20 –
1Hear this, all you peoples; listen, all who live in this world,
both low and high, rich and poor alike:
My mouth will speak words of wisdom; the utterance from my heart will give understanding.
I will turn my ear to a proverb; with the harp I will expound my riddle:

Why should I fear when evil days come, when wicked deceivers surround me—
those who trust in their wealth and boast of their great riches?
No man can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for him—
the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough—
that he should live on forever and not see decay.

10 For all can see that wise men die; the foolish and the senseless alike perish
and leave their wealth to others.
11 Their tombs) will remain their houses forever, their dwellings for endless generations,
though they had named lands after themselves.

12 But man, despite his riches, does not endure; he is like the beasts that perish.

13 This is the fate of those who trust in themselves, and of their followers, who approve their sayings. Selah
14 Like sheep they are destined for the grave, and death will feed on them.  The upright will rule over them in the morning; their forms will decay in the grave, far from their princely mansions.
15 But God will redeem my life from the grave; he will surely take me to himself. Selah

16 Do not be overawed when a man grows rich, when the splendor of his house increases;
17 for he will take nothing with him when he dies, his splendor will not descend with him.
18 Though while he lived he counted himself blessed—and men praise you when you prosper—
19 he will join the generation of his fathers, who will never see the light of life.

20 A man who has riches without understanding is like the beasts that perish.

You read the New Testament and it’s the same theme.  It’s completely natural to want to chase after these things in our fallen state.  So what do we do?  You study the Word of God and meditate on it.  You go to prayer that you can live and be all the God has for us.

I don’t know if any of us will ever come close to our full potential, but it’s not hard to see now and throughout history those who attempted to and did a pretty good job of letting God work through them.  First rule to more success concerning all of us?  It’s about He, not me.

Lift Your Hands And Give It To God

03 Sep

Exodus 17:8-13- 8 The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim. 9 Moses said to Joshua, “Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hands.”

10 So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill. 11 As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. 12 When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset. 13 So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword.

When Moses brought his hands down, the battle turned against them.  When he kept them up in acknowledgement that the Lord was the power, they we’re winning to the point of victory.

Your life is on a battlefield rather you know it or not.  That battle is for the control of man’s heart.  Raise your arms and let God win this battle for you.  Don’t be trying to doing it on your own or you will lose.

The raising of your arms is acknowledgment, submission, shows faith, in the one Whom is in charge.  He wants your heart.  Give to Him and have victory.

The People Closest To God Know Better Than To Let Others Worship Them

31 Aug

Acts 14:8-15 – In Lystra there sat a man crippled in his feet, who was lame from birth and had never walked. He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed 10 and called out, “Stand up on your feet!” At that, the man jumped up and began to walk.

11 When the crowd saw what Paul had done, they shouted in the Lycaonian language, “The gods have come down to us in human form!” 12 Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul they called Hermes because he was the chief speaker. 13 The priest of Zeus, whose temple was just outside the city, brought bulls and wreaths to the city gates because he and the crowd wanted to offer sacrifices to them.

14 But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of this, they tore their clothes and rushed out into the crowd, shouting: 15 “Men, why are you doing this? We too are only men, human like you. We are bringing you good news, telling you to turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made heaven and earth and sea and everything in them.

Here is another example:

Revelation 19:9-10- Then the angel said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!’” And he added, “These are the true words of God.”  10 At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God!  For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

Many times you see people clowning around bowing down and pretending to worship someone saying they are not worthy.  It’s nothing to clown around about.  The Lord takes very seriously this issue.  Here we don’t worship Him enough and then people will go out of their way to worship idols or others.

We do have a Jealous God.  He has given us all we will ever need.  He wants to be loved and worshipped by His creation that has a free will.  HE IS WORTHY!  Praise Him all that you can and when you can.
