Quote – Chuck Missler

05 Mar

It is sixty-six books written by forty authors, written between 1446 B.C. & 90 A.D. But, now we discover that it is an integrated message system from outside our time and space domain.
Chuck Missler

How do we know that?

We know that because of bible prophecy.  Only God knows the future from the past.

Isaiah 46:9-10 – 9 Remember the former things, those of long ago;
   I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like me.
10 I make known the end from the beginning,
from ancient times, what is still to come.

Only God knows the future.  Everyone else who tries to predict the future has a brutal record.  God is the only one who knows it and shares it with the prophets who were men that loved Him.  It’s only just one of many reasons why we can trust the bible, but it is a reason that separates itself from any other literature out there.  All the other books or people that try to predict the future without God are easily refuted and found to be false.  God is fully accurate.

The Ultimate Computer Warning Virus Software

02 Mar

The Holy Spirit!

Nonstop our lives should be hooked into God and Jesus.  Think of yourself as a computer.  The network needs to constantly linked the home base and if you’re a Christian that needs to be the Lord.

If you stay connected on that network it has software that warns you when a virus is detected.  The closer I am to God, the quicker that software kicks in (voice of the Holy Spirit).  It’s quick to point out, “Wow, that wasn’t a great witness.  Let’s work on seeing if we can do better there next time.” Or “Should you really be listening or watching this?”  The Christian anti-viral warning software protects us from becoming infected.

Infected in this case is calloused.  Our hearts become calloused the further we get away from God.

Here is Jesus repeating Isaiah.

Matthew 13:15 – 15 For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes.  Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.

Whose words were they before they came from Isaiah?  Yes, the Word of God Himself.

John 1:1-2 – 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning.

When we protect our hearts with the Word, we are protecting it with the Son Himself.  We need the software from Jesus in our constant daily walks.

What happens when your surfing the web online researching and you get knocked off?  You’re no longer learning new research.  You’re not staying in tuned with the network and what it has to offer.  When we get out of the Word and don’t think about Jesus and God all day long, we stop hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit.  It all gets drowned out by worldly viral implanted dissuasion.

Stay in the Word, constantly talk and pray to God on a constant basis.  Keep the Holy Spirit functioning at a high level in your life, so the warning software detects and goes off immediately.

You can’t win with people bent on evil

28 Feb

Luke 7:33-34 – 33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’ 34 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’

This was being said to the so called people who served God.  Clearly they weren’t looking for truth.  The people of this generation were looking for a King to come and rescue them from the Romans.  The Messiah was to lift the yoke that they had on them and once again Israel would rule the land.

What was the problem?  What were they missing?

The same thing many are missing today.  They want God to give them all their wants and what they think they need.

The Jewish people back in the day of Jesus were looking for what they wanted.  Power and a place back on top in superiority.  They weren’t looking for someone to die for their sins.  Most of them weren’t looking at their own sins anyway, but mostly looking at others who sinned around them.  Basically acting like everyday sinful men.

Today we have those who want Jesus, based off what they want Jesus to do in their lives or what they want Jesus to be.  Isn’t this the same recipe of disaster that the Jews went through 2,000 years ago?

What would have happened if the people who said they were seeking God had actually been truly seeking the scriptures?  What would have happened had they been seeking what God wanted instead of what they wanted?

Luke 13:34-35 –    34 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. 35 Look, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.”

Jesus is reminding us that not only this generation was rejecting Him and God, but they were killing the prophets sent by God by before Him.  More of the same.

So it shouldn’t surprise us that in the last days, the spirit of antichrist is ripe.  People are not seeking the scriptures for what God wants.  They are seeking out what they want.

We must read the Word of God and seek our Lord.  We need to live for Him, not ourselves.  Why do many new people get bored with church and quickly fade away?  Because at first it’s about them, their forgiveness, their comfort, their needs, something new.  Those that stick around are the ones who want to get to know God better and are forever grateful.

Live for the Lord.  Seek the Lord.  Look for the Lord!

Quote – C S Lewis

26 Feb

Christianity asserts that every individual human being is going to live for ever, and this must be either true or false. Now there are a good many things which would not be worth bothering about if I were going to live only seventy years, but which I had better bother about very seriously if I am going to live for ever.
C. S. Lewis

The eternal soul.  Yes this is the reason people should be having an urgency when it comes to their eternal destination.

I think there are people out there that have the attitude, I’m going to control what I can control and not worry about what I can’t.

This is the rub.  Each and every one of us do control our eternal destiny and it comes in the form of a decision.  Will you choose to accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, which is the only thing that can cover your sins?  Will you choose the gift that God has provided so you can return back to being His child?

It is a free gift in the sense that God provided it.  You don’t have to earn it.  However, the bible does indicate that one is suppose to now walk towards God.  We are to die to ourselves and live for the Lord.  That in a sense is why it will cost you everything you got, but that’s because God knows what is best for you.

Seventy years will be only blip on the eternal time clock, but the decisions you make will make that blip of time the most important concerning your destiny.

Sounds Like An Ultimatum

24 Feb

Luke 9:25 – 25 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self?

I feel today too many people live by I want my cake and eat it too.

However, this verse doesn’t give that ultimatum.  We need to choose Christ, and Christ is not of the world.

John 8:23 – 23 But he continued, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.

We need to adhere to the warning.  We have to be honest with ourselves.  We need to read the Word of God and obey.

Disputes Among Christians Need To Be Settled Amongst Believers

22 Feb

1Corinthians 6:1 – 1 If any of you has a dispute with another, do you dare to take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the Lord’s people?

Today too many Christians yoke themselves with people who are unbelievers.  The world encourages all people to do just that.  However, as a believer in Jesus Christ, we are children of God.  This isn’t children in the flesh, but in the spirit.

As children of God we are not suppose to selfishly only think of ourselves.  I work in the field where people are trying to work out disputes.  Today the American system is about self and greed.  This is not a good playing field for Christians to be… disputing in.

2 Corinthians 6:14-16 – 14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? 15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said:

   “I will live with them
   and walk among them,
and I will be their God,
and they will be my people.”

Disputes among believers need to be worked out amongst believers.  The Word of God needs to be our guide.

What does righteousness and wickedness have in common?  They’re on the opposite sides of the spectrum.  I thirst for righteousness, and our judicial system is anything but righteous at this time.  It’s a greedy free for all.

We need to seek God and His ways.  He is the ultimate Judge in life anyway, so we better be finding truth rather than ignoring it.

Quote – A W Tozer

19 Feb

An honest man with an open Bible and a pad and pencil is sure to find out what is wrong with him very quickly.
A W Tozer

I love this quote.  Look around.  We all have some serious issues.  This world is a fallen place.  Just check out the nightly news.

Want the answers to what went wrong?  Read the Bible!  The Bible exposes man for what he is.

Just like Tozer said, if you’re honest, you’ll find out who you are real quickly.   It’s at that time you have to make a decision.  Do I want to keep on being the sinful, selfish, ungrateful, person I’ve been, or do I want to get back in tuned with my loving God and Savior?

Get in the Word of God.  You’ll figure out what’s wrong with you, others, the world, etc.

When you realize the fallen creature you are and how much the Lord loves you and wants you to seek Him, you’ll find the Holy Spirit and He will guide you back onto the path.

My Wife’s Favorite Psalm

14 Feb

Psalm 1:1-6 –

Psalm 1:1 – 1 Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,

2 but whose delight is in the law of the LORD,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
   whatever they do prospers.

 4 Not so the wicked!
   They are like chaff
   that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

No Compromise!  That’s been my wife’s motto.  I’m grateful for it.  She’s been a blessing to me in more ways than a hundred.  But this is definitely one.  Women stand strong.  You don’t have to be the head of the home to help lead it.  Most of you know that already.  The heart of the home pulls most of the strings.

That’s why one of the truest sayings of all time is, “behind every great man is a great woman.”  Also it’s not hard to understand that when we read of an evil woman in the Bible, destruction and evil are rampant.

My mother didn’t wait around till my father was willing to go with us to church.  I’m grateful for it and blessed because of it.  My mom’s obedience won’t go unrecognized when it’s time to stand in front of the Lord.

It doesn’t go unrecognized by this writer of how much God loves him that He blessed me with such wonderful women.  Thanks Lord.

Quote – Billy Graham

13 Feb

God is more interested in your future and your relationships than you are.
Billy Graham

Wow, upon observation over time, isn’t that the truth.

Just watch ourselves and others carefully.  We are sinful fallen creatures and are making decisions that are poor daily.  Some are making more than others.  Most of the time it is a result of one selfishly chasing after the flesh rather than God.

Who one is going to marry and make a vow to on being with them for the rest of their lives, is the second most important decision one can make (choosing Christ as Savior is first).  Yet our world is full of people not making good decisions.

God cares about our future and relationships more than we do.  Great quote above by Billy Graham.

A good way to start caring about our eternal future is to read the Word and allow God to shape those decisions for us.

Quote – Martin Luther

05 Feb

They gave our Master a crown of thorns. Why do we hope for a crown of roses?
Martin Luther

There is one thing right off the bat that this quote reminds me of:

John 15:20 – 20 Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.

One comfort we can take comfort in though, is when we are being persecuted because of Christ, it doesn’t go unnoticed before the King.

Matthew 5:9-13 – 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.   11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
