Thankful

22 Nov

I’m still grateful that we can freely worship the Truth and our God in this country.  The day is coming where we will not be able to do this in Truth I fear.

But we are still able to do it to date and praise our Lord for that.  I am very thankful.

I’m not just grateful for what I have on this earth, but what we get to look forward to with our Lord.

Hebrews 12:28 – 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,

I am so thankful that He has died for me and that I do have an unshakeable Kingdom that He has allowed us to enter.  That is if we accept His sacrifice and call Him Lord.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Quote – D L Moody

15 Nov

There is no better evangelist in the world than the Holy Spirit.
Dwight L. Moody

The Holy Spirit is part of the Trinity and part of God.  He has nothing contrary to say about the Word or God.

If someone does something or is teaching something other than the Word of God and says it’s from the Holy Spirit, they’re being deceived.  Jesus went to be with the Lord so he could send back the Comforer.

John 16:7 – 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.  KJV

John 16:7 – 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.  NKJV

John 16:7 – 7 But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.  NIV

Counselor, Helper, Comforter, the Holy Spirit is all those things and our communication line to the Lord.  There is no better evangelist.

Lover’s Of Pleasure; Lover’s Of Self

07 Nov

2 Timothy 3:1-5 – 3 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.

Quite an election Washington State had.  Do you think people look to God before voting or to self?

The above scripture is amongst us in this country and growing stronger every day.

However we have the Blessed Hope.

Titus 2:11-15 – 11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.

15 These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.

Keep in  the Word so you may not get swept away in the river that is getting more swift in these last days.

What’s Not Forgiven?

28 Oct

Luke 12:10- 10 And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

When I read this, here’s what comes to mind.  There are people who have used the Lord’s name in vain.  I believe there are a lot of people who use it in vain that slip.  They have no idea what they are doing or how bad that is.

So how about blaspheming against the Holy Spirit?

To blaspheme against the Holy Spirit, is to call Him a liar.  What does the Holy Spirit attest to?

That the only way to have your sins forgiven is to accept Jesus is the Son of God and there is no other way to get to the Father except through the His Son.

It makes total sense.  That’s what the Word says.

John 14:6 – 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

There is only One Way.  To be a Christian and believe there is more than one way is going against what the Word of God has to say.

God Loves Obedience And Worship

22 Oct

Nehemiah 9:7-31 – 7 “You are the Lord God, who chose Abram and brought him out of Ur of the Chaldeans and named him Abraham. 8 You found his heart faithful to you, and you made a covenant with him to give to his descendants the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Jebusites and Girgashites. You have kept your promise because you are righteous.

9 “You saw the suffering of our forefathers in Egypt; you heard their cry at the Red Sea. 10 You sent miraculous signs and wonders against Pharaoh, against all his officials and all the people of his land, for you knew how arrogantly the Egyptians treated them. You made a name for yourself, which remains to this day. 11 You divided the sea before them, so that they passed through it on dry ground, but you hurled their pursuers into the depths, like a stone into mighty waters. 12 By day you led them with a pillar of cloud, and by night with a pillar of fire to give them light on the way they were to take.

13 “You came down on Mount Sinai; you spoke to them from heaven. You gave them regulations and laws that are just and right, and decrees and commands that are good. 14 You made known to them your holy Sabbath and gave them commands, decrees and laws through your servant Moses. 15 In their hunger you gave them bread from heaven and in their thirst you brought them water from the rock; you told them to go in and take possession of the land you had sworn with uplifted hand to give them.

16 “But they, our forefathers, became arrogant and stiff-necked, and did not obey your commands. 17 They refused to listen and failed to remember the miracles you performed among them. They became stiff-necked and in their rebellion appointed a leader in order to return to their slavery. But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Therefore you did not desert them, 18 even when they cast for themselves an image of a calf and said, ‘This is your god, who brought you up out of Egypt,’ or when they committed awful blasphemies.

19 “Because of your great compassion you did not abandon them in the desert. By day the pillar of cloud did not cease to guide them on their path, nor the pillar of fire by night to shine on the way they were to take. 20 You gave your good Spirit to instruct them. You did not withhold your manna from their mouths, and you gave them water for their thirst. 21 For forty years you sustained them in the desert; they lacked nothing, their clothes did not wear out nor did their feet become swollen.

22 “You gave them kingdoms and nations, allotting to them even the remotest frontiers. They took over the country of Sihon king of Heshbon and the country of Og king of Bashan. 23 You made their sons as numerous as the stars in the sky, and you brought them into the land that you told their fathers to enter and possess. 24 Their sons went in and took possession of the land. You subdued before them the Canaanites, who lived in the land; you handed the Canaanites over to them, along with their kings and the peoples of the land, to deal with them as they pleased. 25 They captured fortified cities and fertile land; they took possession of houses filled with all kinds of good things, wells already dug, vineyards, olive groves and fruit trees in abundance. They ate to the full and were well-nourished; they reveled in your great goodness.

26 “But they were disobedient and rebelled against you; they put your law behind their backs. They killed your prophets, who had admonished them in order to turn them back to you; they committed awful blasphemies. 27 So you handed them over to their enemies, who oppressed them. But when they were oppressed they cried out to you. From heaven you heard them, and in your great compassion you gave them deliverers, who rescued them from the hand of their enemies.

28 “But as soon as they were at rest, they again did what was evil in your sight. Then you abandoned them to the hand of their enemies so that they ruled over them. And when they cried out to you again, you heard from heaven, and in your compassion you delivered them time after time.

29 “You warned them to return to your law, but they became arrogant and disobeyed your commands. They sinned against your ordinances, by which a man will live if he obeys them. Stubbornly they turned their backs on you, became stiff-necked and refused to listen. 30 For many years you were patient with them. By your Spirit you admonished them through your prophets. Yet they paid no attention, so you handed them over to the neighboring peoples. 31 But in your great mercy you did not put an end to them or abandon them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.

Just a good historical reminder that Nehemiah goes through concerning the people God has a covenant with regarding HIS land.  That’ why the world is in trouble for trying to give away.  It’s HIS land that HE promised to a certain people that HE made a promise with.

The Lord has made a covenant with His church also.  He doesn’t want rebellion from them either.  He wants a loving obedient bride.

How do we stay obedient?  If we don’t know His Word it’s hard follow it and be obedient to Him.

Consulting God Before A Decision

18 Oct

Genesis 25:29-34 –29 Once when Jacob was cooking some stew, Esau came in from the open country, famished. 30 He said to Jacob, “Quick, let me have some of that red stew! I’m famished!” (That is why he was also called Edom.

31 Jacob replied, “First sell me your birthright.”

32 “Look, I am about to die,” Esau said. “What good is the birthright to me?”

33 But Jacob said, “Swear to me first.” So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright to Jacob.

34 Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew. He ate and drank, and then got up and left.

So Esau despised his birthright.

So do you think Esau consulted with God before this decision?  Do you think God was happy with this decision?

We are getting ready to vote and I am shocked when I talk to people.  I hear a hundreds of philosophies on why someone feels they need to vote a certain way.  What I don’t hear is this:  I am going to vote this way because its how God’s Word indicates I should vote.

I hear it’s good for the economy, we can tax it.  This person isn’t threatening to take my free programs away.  We need more government, we need less government.

I’m amazed.  No one consults God anymore.  It’s like they believe that God doesn’t care how you vote.

God cares about everything.  How you think, how you vote, how you act.  We will be held accountable for all aspects of our lives.  Grace is forgiveness, but people have taken it to a new level that once that’s been accomplished, however I go about the rest of my business is my business.  There certainly isn’t any biblical truth to that.

When you make decisions in life, consult with God first.

Testimony Of Jesus Is The Spirit Of Prophecy

05 Oct

We have been talking about rather prophecy important to Jesus?  Today we look a little further.

How does the Bible start out?  With creation and then immediately into the fall of man.

How does it end?  With the Revelation of Jesus Christ.

The middle?  The redemptive plan from God sending His Son to pay the sacrifice for our sins.

Revelation 19:9-10- 9 Then the angel said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!’” And he added, “These are the true words of God.”

10 At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

The Bible points to Jesus.  Throughout the whole Bible it does.  Through the line of Abraham all nations will be blessed.  Why?  Jesus is to come through his line.  When the Israelites made camp in the desert they set up a certain way.  If you were in a plane looking down on the camp it was in the shape of a cross.  The bible points to Jesus all throughout.  The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

The World Is Ripe In Deception – Part 2

26 Sep

Yesterday we talked about how the world is ripe for deception.  The fact is we are ripe in deception.

Who is ripe?  Not just the unsaved, but those Christians who don’t know God’s Word.

The next verse is one that is in the Tribulation but I see major deception already to those who have focused on the world and this life and have fallen asleep.

Revelation 13:11-14 –   11 Then I saw another beast, coming out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon. 12 He exercised all the authority of the first beast on his behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. 13 And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in full view of men. 14 Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth. He ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.

If you are not in the Word of God and not wearing the Armor of God, you will fall into certain amount of deception.  It’s just too alive and rampant right now.  In today’s world right is wrong and wrong is okay.  Things continue to get so bad, that those things that used to seem bad are nothing to worry about in our own minds.  They seem small anymore.  The problem is its all evil.

3 John1:11 – 11 Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.

So we see that it is important to do good not evil, but how do we know what is what?  God says what’s good and what is evil.  If you don’t know the Word, you won’t know what it is.  Because right now the world is trying to convince people the exact opposite of good and evil.

Isaiah 5:20 –20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil,
who put darkness for light and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

Don’t be deceived; study your Word of God and His love letter to you.

The World Is Ripe In Deception- Part 1

24 Sep

Yes I didn’t write for deception because that would mean it is to come.  Deception is everywhere.

Who is being deceived?  I’ve been watching pretty closely and here is what I see.

Anyone who does not pay one hundred percent to the scriptures is being deceived.  That means Christians and those who are not Christians.  The body that has not attempted to make a good effort on putting on the Armor of God is living in their own hopeful world.

So where is the deception Pat?  The shorter answer is, “where is it not?”  It’s in our Country rampantly.  It never shines more than during an election process.  It’s in the whole world.

Who gets deceived?  The one who doesn’t know the Word of God.

The argument can be made that it has always been that way.  True, but at least there were more who did know it only 50 years ago that was passing on the Truth to others.  Now deception is coming from the pulpits.  Why?  Because they are not teaching the Word of God as if it is Truth.  They pick and choose.  When the world looks strongly at something that the Bible opposes, they choose the world.  They say you can’t trust the Bible, so we have to pick and choose what works for us.  That’s a doctrine that comes from demons.  Oh yeah, deceiving spirits are alive and well in America.  If you read your Old Testament they used to infiltrate the prophets (false prophets) that weren’t in tuned to God.

If you believe everything is great and always believe it will be in this country for you, you’re deceiving yourself.  It wasn’t too long ago a man named Hitler was busy over in Europe and those complacent fooled themselves that he will be happy just doing the next little thing on his agenda.  His agenda was to take over the world and destroy the Jews, he wasn’t going to stop.

As humans and our narrow focus, history is what has happened in our narrow little lifetime.  Anything before our parent’s childhood is like a storybook that doesn’t mean anything.  That’s called false positive thinking and that is a form of deception.

Tomorrow we will continue on with this topic.

How do we know if a Prophecy comes from the Lord? Part 2

18 Sep

Yesterday we read that for a prophecy to come from the Lord, it had to come true.  Here is a second thing that it has to follow.

Deuteronomy 13:1-5- 1 If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a miraculous sign or wonder, 2 and if the sign or wonder of which he has spoken takes place, and he says, “Let us follow other gods” (gods you have not known) “and let us worship them,” 3 you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The Lord your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul. 4 It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him. 5 That prophet or dreamer must be put to death, because he preached rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery; he has tried to turn you from the way the Lord your God commanded you to follow. You must purge the evil from among you.

It can’t contradict God’s Word.  God’s not fickle, we are.  His Word doesn’t contradict itself.  The other thing is a prophet can’t try and sway others to pursue other Gods.  That clearly isn’t from the Lord.
