We Can All Be Sons Of God

14 Feb

Who as humans are sons of God?

God and Jesus created all humans, but creation doesn’t make them automatic sons of God.  Jesus Himself was talking to some of the Pharisees and He was telling them that the devil was their father.

John 8:44 – 44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

So who is a Son?

Galatians 3:26-29 – 26 You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

The Jews are not the only ones who are of Abraham’s seed.  In fact those who don’t believe in Christ are on the outside.  Abraham was the line that Christ came through as promised.  If you believe in Christ as your Lord and Savior it doesn’t matter what else you are.  We are heirs according to the promise.

It all makes sense.  You can’t be royalty on earth without a bloodline.  However, anyone can be part of the bloodline through our Savior.  It’s a free gift.  We all have a spirit inside of us capable of reaching out to God.  Many people feel that due to upbringing some never have a chance.  I have been watching closely and I would say those with a silver spoon in their mouths have a harder time than someone with a rough upbringing.

The Lord will Judge correctly and we can count on that.  We need to submit to the King now and be His sons and daughters now.  We need to serve and love Him now.

Make today a new day and strive to serve Him where He leads you.

Our Competence Is Through God

13 Feb

2 Corinthians 3:4-5 – 4 Such confidence as this is ours through Christ before God. 5 Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.

So many people feel like the Lord is speaking to them.  However, if the voice is contradicting the Word of God, it’s the wrong voice.  These people many times are genuine.  If I sat here and tried to run you nuclear fusion, it would just be a bunch of hooey that sounded good to me.  I know nothing about nuclear fusion.

Why do I feel confident about writing on God?  Because we have His Word to study and share.  Our competence comes from God Himself.

What’s really sad about today’s world we live in, we’re all taught that our own opinion is correct.  It’s our right to have one and no one should have the audacity to say it’s wrong.

We are allowed to have our own opinion, that much is true.  However, if your opinion is 2 + 2 = 5, your opinion is wrong.  You can still have it and no one can change it if you don’t want to, but it’s wrong.  Many people today are trying to teach it doesn’t matter what 2+2 equals, it’s irrelevant.

Why does 2 +2 = 4?  Because God does have absolutes.  Competence comes from God.  Without God we are all incompetent.  So much so, that if He didn’t come back and die for our penalty, we were all on our way to hell.  Follow the Competent One.  Live for Him.  He is the maker of the rules to follow.  The Lord is our guide and He mapped it out already in His Word.

Anyone Who Does Good Is From God

11 Feb

3 John 1:11 – 11 Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.

So now becomes; what is good?

Luke 18:19 – 19 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone.

God is good!  Jesus is good as He is God in the flesh.

So we need to do what God and Jesus want to be good.  Not good works that a man considers good, but what God thinks is good.

On the other hand, he who does evil has not seen God.

Let’s focus on God and what he wants.  After all when we’re dead here and standing in front of Him that is all that’s going to matter.

I know that I sound like a broken record at times, but it’s amazing how much of the New Testament is about the redundant things I keep writing about.  I believe as humans we try to ignore the obvious, so the obvious gets mentioned a hundred times throughout the New Testament.

We Would Do Well To Listen To The Prophets

09 Feb

2 Peter 1:19-21 –19 And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. 20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation. 21 For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

God and God only could give man a sure 100% accurate message about the future.

I have been very blessed to have lived in this time period.  Prophecy has been happening in front of our very eyes and not just by chance.

The Jews continue to exist even though the whole world continues to persecute and destroy them.  During this period of time they end up back in the land that God promised them.  The land in which they need to be in the last days.  The Word of God said Jerusalem would be a troublesome stone in the last days.  Jerusalem, not just Israel.  This is just a snippet of the prophecies.

To study prophecy and to see it all happening, one would have to be negligent to not believe it.

As I said earlier, I feel very blessed because seeing the prophecies happening has strengthened my faith 10 fold at least.  It’s helped me to know the Bible is 100% accurate and we can rest assure of how we are supposed to think and live.

Many people are scared to even learn about what’s happening or the thought of Jesus coming back.  Why?  It’s not because they are seeking the Lord too much.  Maybe it’s because their spirit recognizes that they haven’t been seeking Him at all.

A crown is given to those who loves Jesus’ wonderful appearing.

2 Timothy 4:8 –8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

A crown!  Do you think if he is offering a crown to those who love His appearing that it is important?  Would God have more to say in prophecy about Christ’s second coming than His first if it wasn’t important?

We would do well to listen and pay attention to what the prophets had to say and wrote about.

We Brought Nothing In; Nothing Going Out

08 Feb

1 Timothy 6:6-7 –6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.

There is a couple of questions that should intrigue everyone who reaches the age of 12 at least.  Everyone dies and goes somewhere.  Where are they going?

The fact that many people avoid that question already reveals there is a problem with the human mind.  It’s inevitable, people are born and then they die.

I believe most of the people who give the answer you can’t possibly know so I don’t worry about it, are the ones that aren’t looking too hard.

Another question; if we don’t take anything out of this world physically, why do so many try to build an abundance before they leave?

Why are the ones who love things so much, not that excited about sharing them equally with others?  Why does one have no problem making $10M dollars has four homes that equal the same amount allow others to starve to death around the world?

When one looks at the world, it’s not hard to see there seems to be a lot of problems in human thinking.  How can aid come into a country for starving people and yet outlaws and pirates are willing to steal it for their own gain and let thousands starve?

The pages of the Bible live, because God’s Word lives.

The only thing we are taking out is what we have done, good or bad.  Did we ask for forgiveness or are we hard hearted?  Did we live for God or did we live for ourselves?

Nothing physically goes out.  To be content with what we have is great gain.  It shows faith and belief in His Word.

Proverbs 21

07 Feb

Proverbs 21:2 – 2 All a man’s ways seem right to him,
but the LORD weighs the heart.

Proverbs 21:16 – 16 A man who strays from the path of understanding
comes to rest in the company of the dead.

We have to be careful.  So much is at stake.  We’re not taught that anywhere but in the Word of God.  We’re taught by the world to be all we can be.  We’re told to live like you have no tomorrow.

The Bible warns us and encourages us to live for God today so we can have something to present to Him tomorrow.  It’s a trust factor.  The Lord loves faith.  One thing that strengthens your faith is seeking God and knowing what He asks is 100% correct instead of just guessing.  The Word of God explains what that is, not that gut feeling, not the whispering in your ear.

Many people are getting a whisper in there ear and it is totally contradictory to the Word of God.

Trust In Him

03 Feb

John 14:1 – 1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.

There is a lot going on in the world right now.  The most troubling is its waffling stance for Israel.  The Lord says:

Genesis 12:1-3 – 1 The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you.

2 “I will make you into a great nation
   and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you,
   and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
   will be blessed through you.”

We have truly been blessed and in the past we have been supportive, when almost no one else was.

However, we are not to be troubled.  We are to trust in God and also trust in Jesus.

Psalm 22

02 Feb

I just wanted for you all to read Psalm 22 and once again reflect on David’s prophecy concerning the betrayal and crucifixion of Jesus.  It really became obvious in hindsight.  I’m sure in the past it read like David was making a poem about hard times and adversity, finishing with the Lord’s final rule.  Once Jesus lived the accounts, it became obvious that it was a fulfilled prophecy.  We serve an awesome God.

Psalm 22:1-31 –

1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
Why are you so far from saving me, so far from the words of my groaning?
2 O my God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, and am not silent.

3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the praise of Israel.
4 In you our fathers put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them.
5 They cried to you and were saved; in you they trusted and were not disappointed.

6 But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by men and despised by the people.
7 All who see me mock me; they hurl insults, shaking their heads:
8 “He trusts in the LORD; let the LORD rescue him.  Let him deliver him, since he delights in him.”

9 Yet you brought me out of the womb; you made me trust in you even at my mother’s breast.
10 From birth I was cast upon you; from my mother’s womb you have been my God.
11 Do not be far from me, for trouble is near and there is no one to help.

12 Many bulls surround me; strong bulls of Bashan encircle me.
13 Roaring lions tearing their prey open their mouths wide against me.
14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint.  My heart has turned to wax;
it has melted away within me.
15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth; you lay me in the dust of death.
16 Dogs have surrounded me; a band of evil men has encircled me, they have pierced my hands and my feet.
17 I can count all my bones; people stare and gloat over me.
18 They divide my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing.

19 But you, O LORD, be not far off; O my Strength, come quickly to help me.
20 Deliver my life from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dogs.
21 Rescue me from the mouth of the lions; save me from the horns of the wild oxen.

22 I will declare your name to my brothers; in the congregation I will praise you.
23 You who fear the LORD, praise him!  All you descendants of Jacob, honor him!
Revere him, all you descendants of Israel!
24 For he has not despised or disdained the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help.

25 From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly; before those who fear you will I fulfill my vows.
26 The poor will eat and be satisfied; they who seek the LORD will praise him— may your hearts live forever!
27 All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations  will bow down before him,
28 for dominion belongs to the LORD and he rules over the nations.

29 All the rich of the earth will feast and worship; all who go down to the dust will kneel before him—
those who cannot keep themselves alive.
30 Posterity will serve him; future generations will be told about the Lord.
31 They will proclaim his righteousness to a people yet unborn— for he has done it.

Only A Little

01 Feb

Galatians 5:9 – 9 “A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough.”

Paul was using this in a negative connotation.  Yeast always puffs up the bread and signifies pride.  Also it reveals that one bad apple can spoil the bunch.

On the other hand it only takes a small group of people living the right way and sharing the Truth for it to works its way through the group also.

Take a stand for Truth.  Know what it is and share it with others.  It will set them free as well as yourself
when you seek it.
